Mini Owners of America, San Francisco Chapter
Presents:
Mt. Diablo Run and Picnic Lunch
April 14th, 2002—9:00 meet at Classic Cars
Ltd.
14
California Avenue, Pleasanton
The idea for this event is to provide a casual get together of Mini
enthusiasts. The day will start out at 9:00 am meeting at Classic Cars Ltd., 14
California Avenue, Pleasanton. If
you have trouble finding the place or just plain have trouble call 925-846-1451 and we will dispatch someone to help you.
Classic Cars Ltd. is known for having all kinds of interesting cars for sale and
coffee and bagels will be available for consumption.
At 10:30 a.m. we will gather up and take a drive up to Mt. Diablo to enjoy a
picnic lunch at a very interesting state park. Mt. Diablo offers lots to do for
both adults and children alike. Hiking trails abound and there are lots of
“walking trails” to enjoy as well with bountiful scenic views. There is also
a Summit Museum and Gift Shop and the very peak of Mt. Diablo that affords a
most spectacular view of Livermore and surrounding valleys. Hopefully spring
will have “sprung” upon (or prior to) our arrival. We have reserved Laurel
Nook picnic area for the club. The picnic area has barbeques available (you must
bring your own charcoal). Also BYOPL (bring your own picnic lunch). Rules are
generally that we leave the park as we found it, but I should mention that ALCOHOL
IS PROHIBITED IN THE PARK. The admission to the park is $2.00 per car
(this is in addition to the charges that the club has picked up for reserving
the picnic area). This will not be a rallye or race; the pace will accommodate
the slowest vehicle. I hope we can turn out a number of Minis to this event;
however if you mini is ailing, unavailable or otherwise indispose—please feel
free to drive any vehicle at your disposal (yes even Yankee Tanks or SUVs). Mark
your calendar bring your kids, bring your spouse, bring yourself!! See you
there!
